Over the years, as I teacher, poet, emerging singer, and hopefully a good friend, I have discovered that I have a natural gift or talent for spiritual counseling, an innate understanding of how the mind is connected to the spirit and helping other people access their inner guidance, inner peace, creativity, etc. through meditation, prayer, dreamwork, reading, writing, film, music, etc..
Not that I am this perfect person. Trust me, I have my own inner work to do too, and life continues to bless me with my own share of lessons. But I know that I am being called to help others as I continue to grow spiritually and artistically myself.
I have noticed a lot of online courses, but, not to be too judgmental here, some of them appear to be scams. How do I even begin to sort through them all and find the legitimate courses or programs, or do you think it would best to find a school in the New York area? Even then, how does one sort out the legitimate ones from the scams?
Jan–please do not make neg. assumptions ab. my intentions. I am def. not in the business of "messing with people’s minds." Even if the idea of spirituality sounds like hocus pocus to me, for me and many others like me spirituality is real. TY for your answer, nonetheless. It showed me I am on the right track here. Even if there are no legit. online courses, there is a great need for spiritual healing in our world. Peace to you.

Congratulations! You seem to be one of those lucky peoples with a very high EQ, and therefore able to "read" people’s emotions. You also probably have enough empathy to really listen to their problems and by doing so helping them to "sort things out" by themselves. One could call that spiritual guidance, but i call it helping peoples.
Let me be VERY clear here, there does NOT exist any spiritual course that isn’t a scam!!! If you want to expand your knowledge to help peoples with problems, there are 2 fairly scientifically proven courses available: psychology and psychiatry. Others are all scams and very dangerous for the peoples you believe to be helping!!!!
I’m an engineer, and when I calculate the stability of a bridge, i don’t seek spiritual guidance. I use proven methods which guarantee me that the chance of hurting and killing peoples is minimal!
Conclusion: if you’re going to mess with people’s minds, make sure u got the right training and realize the consequences when making mistakes!
In answer to your additional details:
Don’t misunderstand me, I wouldn’t suggest u voluntarily mess with people’s heads of course. What I’m saying is that when u want to try to help peoples, certainly when thinking of becoming an professional, you should realize the consequences of your actions. The moment u claim to be able to help peoples with problems u should also have the proper training to back that statement up. For example in which spiritual course are they going to help u identify suicidal peoples, or schizophrenic or depressive, etc. It seems these days putting spiritual in front of something, it gives you automatically respect without the need of any form of qualification.
In answer to your suggestion of spiritual guiding for my person: when I’m in need of help with my life I will seek it with those trained to do so. I find it very disturbing that you use my lack of spirituality to make your point. I never judged you for being spiritual and I expected the same respect from you.
The only thing I said was that when you ask money to help peoples and you are not trained to recognize the consequences of your actions, you’re not only a fraud, but also a very dangerous person. Why do u think real professionals need to study years for their degree while frauds get it online in a few days????
