In the artistic sense, it's to produce through artistic or imaginative effort. The Webster's definition of thinking is to have or formulate in the mind; to decide by reasoning, reflection, or pondering. The difference between being creative and thinking is that you bring something into being when you are being creative and when you are thinking you are pondering something. But creativity is the ability to take facts and use them to create something fictional. For example, Dan Brown did with his "The Da Vinci Code." The ideas of an "Illuminati" or that Christ wasn't all that the Bible made him out to be is nothing new. Athiests claim it all the time.
