Some of you may have already experienced writer’s, or in this case blogger’s, block. This is when you can’t seem to start blogging anything worthwhile, sometimes not even a single word’s worth.

How could this happen when you were so good at blogging before? Why is it that you can’t get one word written? And the most frustrating thing of all: the more time you spend thinking about blogging, the less able you are to start your next project! Is there any cure? Luckily, there are a few things you can try.

Visiting other people’s blogs is a good start. Read through your favorite ones, or do a random blog search and see what gets turned up. Reading what other people have to say can spark your own creativity and send you over the hump of blogger’s block. Leave some comments to get you started; you might be able to expand on their ideas, and sometimes you can track back to your own blog. Looking at your blog inbox can help, too, as there might be a question or comment there that can get you started.

Look for a word or topic. Then begin writing about it. You can also do this with pictures. Check out photos and think of something to write about it. You can also check the news, which is always rich with current events. Even if there isn’t anything that directly relates to what you normally write about, writing about something completely different than your normal topics can help.

If those things do not seem to work for you, you can search for creative or journal writing software to help you with your writing problem. Oftentimes, these things have suggestions of topic or idea that can help you get started.

Think about an extraordinary topic. For example, you can research about inventions and inventors. What was the first car ever invented? Anything that you fancy can become a blog entry. You can look for answers to questions like the one about the car at online resources like encyclopedias and almanacs. When you have the answer, blog about it. You never know, maybe some people are thinking of the same things and you have answered their questions. Besides, it can be good to drift from your usual topic one in awhile. Your readers might feel refreshed by the change.

If none of these exercises help, it might be time to do something unrelated to writing for a while. Sometimes we just need a break from writing! Go outside, go shopping, go to a movie. Anything to take your mind off of your blog. You just might feel refreshed and ready to start blogging once you get back up in front of your computer.

There are a lot more ways to beat blogger’s block. If you come up with something new that helps you get over it, think of what a good blog topic your experience would be! Who knows, you may even help someone out there who is struggling with blogger’s block!

Give the same plants to several people, you will see several arrangements. Each one distinct and different, yet, using the same plants.
This is the ultimate reward of gardening- a means to express, to create with the help and inspiration from the gifts of Nature. Gardening is not just physically and aesthetically rewarding. It enriches the spirit. It awakens ones creativity that lies dormant from neglect, or lack of motivation, or a popular excuse, not enough time.

Gardening is fast becoming a popular hobby of the times. From the tropics , to the frigid climes, gardening centers are offering more choices to tantalize even the most conservative taste.

Each year, gardeners look forward with excitement to their gardening; a hobby they take passionately. What new plants are being introduced? What variety of surprises awaits them? The ornamental gardener will be glorious with the new plants or hybrids for the present growing season. The vegetable/herb gardener looks forward with anticipation at harvest time.

With so much variety to choose from, what factors determine which plants to buy? After considering the soil, weather, sun/shade location factors, the choice is all about self- expression.

No two gardens are alike, given the same set of plants. Colors are as revealing as the plants. A conservative gardener will opt for traditional plants. At times, you see the same plants, the same arrangements year after year. Aha!! Perhaps the gardener does not adapt to change too quickly. It may be lack of time, or change of physical health.

Vibrant colors in the garden reflect a vibrant gardener. A garden bursting with colors is very attractive and pleasing to look at. It is inviting.

What about passion? They say red is a color of passion, of energy and courage. Add white to the reds, and the garden beckons the passer-by to take a look. Someone said this combination looks like a candy cane.

My garden is overcome by burst of yellows and orange, not really by choice. Somehow, it gives out a golden glow as the blooms bask in the sun. It reflects my enthusiasm for life. Many of my plants are gifts from friends, treasures for my garden. Yellow flowers remind me of my mother.

Purples and blues in the garden are colors of reflection, of peace and calm. Add white flowers to this and it invites a meditative mood.

After colors, the arrangements of the plants reveal something of the person. I have a friend whose flowerbeds are symmetrical, weedless, picture- perfect, right out of a magazine. Indeed, this expresses her organized way of thinking and living.

A gardener who loves to re-arrange the plants and loves to add new plants and ornaments shows an enthusiastic and energetic spirit, ready to welcome change, eager to experiment.

What about an overgrown garden? Perhaps it reflects someone with scattered energies, at times, a full plate, or one who does not have the time or energy to tend the garden. It may well show one who starts with a burst of enthusiasm that wanes quickly after the planting is done.

No matter how you plan your garden, it is a creative tool that allows you to express yourself. Gardening is therapeutic, physically, mentally and spiritually.

Happy gardening. Don’t forget to talk to your plants.

i wanted to be a vet first, but then i realized how bad i am at science. so now i am thinking i want something with creativity. like fashion designers or songwriters or writers. something with music would be awesome. any ideas?

I think that ever job needs a bit of creativity… A Vet would have to be creative a lot of the time while trying to figure out how to treat their "patients"

If you’re into music, why don’t you try tracking down some people who do that for a living. You don’t necessarily have to track down Mariah Carey or Jay Z. You could start by maybe finding someone who works at a recording studio or for a smaller music label.

Pick up the phone and call them. Tell them about your situation and that you are trying to figure out what to do. Ask them if they would be willing to do an interview.

Let them know that you aren’t looking for a job, just info to help you make a decision…

Also, if you can, try to maybe volunteer for a company in the industry you want to be in. People are usually pretty willing to accept volunteers and you can also put that on your resume or put it towards school volunteer requirements.

The main thing is to start having some experiences around the stuff you think you want to do and then make some decisions about how to do it.

You are already ahead of a lot of people who never ask these types of questions.

Happy hunting!

Hypnotherapy is a form of therapy that is rapidly growing in popularity. Used for everything from obesity and terminal illness to quitting smoking and curing phobias it’s not hard to see why this seemingly mystical method of treatment is attracting so much attention.

This article will examine the practice of Hypnotherapy and its effectiveness in making changes to both conscious and unconscious behavioral processes.

Unconscious and Conscious Minds

Hypnotherapy is based on the principle that we have two ‘minds’. As science confirms, we have a left hemisphere that deals with logic and thought processes and a right hemisphere that is not logical but emotional and governs such processes as creativity.

Hypnotherapists recognize that the cause of a lot of problems such as phobias and the associations that cause us to smoke or overeat are a result of miscommunication and misrepresentation of certain aspects of reality within our minds.

Inducing a State That Is Conducive To Healing

Hypnotherapy then recognizes that if a certain mental state is produced, commands or directions can be interpreted in a way as to powerfully effect the mind of the client.

If you were to try to convince someone to stop smoking you would find it difficult because you would have to penetrate their thinking and logic (that causes them to smoke) and influence the emotional part of the brain enough that it would create a command to itself to stop smoking.

While this can be done it is rarely successful and relies on many factors being present in the client. Hypnotherapists achieve this goal by inducing a ‘trance’ or a mental state in a client that is conducive to this positive change.

Through various means of communication the therapist will distract the logical thinking mind and without the patient’s recognition, implant a command into the unconscious mind that will cause behavioral change.

Because it seems to passive and lacking in force, the patient generally receives the treatment well and assuming the therapist does everything correctly, the treatment is successful.

Milton Erickson

Milton Erickson is considered to be one of the foremost pioneers in the field of hypnotherapy. There are many accounts of his ability to cure patients of varying types of inflictions with his creative use of language and ability to induce powerful trances in even clients who were non believers in the power of hypnosis.

One story is recounted of how Erickson cured a man who had needed to urinate every 30 minutes for the past 20 years. The man came to Erickson after reportedly having seen 100 physicians and even 4 supposed hypnotherapists, none of whom could achieve the appropriate causative outcome.

Through an intense one and a half hour talk where he utilized many of the key aspects of hypnosis, the man left Erickson’s office and walked back to his home and began going about his day. It wasn’t long before he noticed it had been 6 hours since he had needed to urinate.
